DXLook Events - Help
Events View: Plan your ham radio contest or field day operations using VOACAP propagation predictions.
How to use:
- Select an event from the dropdown to see the event dates
- Use the Hour slider to see predictions for different times of day
- For multi-day events, select the specific day in the Configuration panel
- Enter your grid square and click "Go" to see predictions from your location
- Filter by band to focus on specific frequency ranges
- Use the SSN selector to compare different solar activity scenarios
Arcs: Colored arcs show predicted propagation paths. Arc color indicates the optimal band, thickness indicates signal quality.
SSN (Sunspot Number): Affects HF propagation - higher SSN means better conditions on higher bands (10m, 15m, 20m). The SSN selector shows NOAA's predicted values with confidence intervals:
- Predicted - Central forecast (most likely)
- High 75%/25% - Upper confidence bounds
- Low 25%/75% - Lower confidence bounds
